How to replace bi-fold doors with sliding doors??
I have 3 (for now - more to come) and the cabinets to replace the bi-fold doors with sliding doors. I have already removed the doors and painted the front / Qtr. The width is 72 inches - are 2 X 36 "doors work or do I need more overlap? What hardware do I need? I'd like white raised panel or door tambour. Where would the best place to buy? The doors should be solid wood but sturdy enough to withstand in the bedroom of a child. I'm assuming a pre-hung solution would not work well on all fronts / trim is already there? BTW - I am very ignorant about this now!
The prehund may be your best bet. if a little too short you a alway add another piece of wood like a 2x4 or 2 / 4 and the frame around it. Take your measurements to Lowes or Home Depot, and give your best shot. 72 inches is the total approximate measure or form of measurement from wall to wall of the structure? Extera unless you have the space to play. Besur to take the measurement total (height from the ground to the top of the door frame), and side to side of the frame.
