The most basic of door handles is just a bump on a door that provides a place for a hand to grab in order to pull the door toward you. However, most households prefer to use doorknobs incorporating a mechanism which ensures the door remains closed until the mechanism is activated.
Doorknobs with this mechanism at work by using a latch that extends from inside the door in a recess in the context of this ensures that the door is not can pull open or may open a project, but the command must be on for the mechanism to work. The turning of the knob causes the latch to remove the door itself, remove the obstruction between the door and the frame and the door is opened.
