Mobile Phonemania

I walked down the high street both sides were different brand phone shops tempt me to buy the latest Internet ready/camera/mp4 player / cell phone with more minutes per month than I could use in a year. Everywhere people were sitting in bars, cafes, walking down the street, all with phones pressed against their ears. Some of them with blue tooth that looks like they are talking to themselves in public.

If the world gone mad?

I remember the days walking down the street carrying a mobile was practically advertising that you were a drug dealer. For a time people thought it swish locators, remember that added bulk to his jeans pockets. However, he soon changed his risk of testicular cancer more fashionable perils of brain tumors and the ear frying.

Mobile phones are probably one of the best examples of how technology may change the nature of social interaction, even how we see the world. Try watching movies made before 1998 and see a hundred different plots that never would have occurred to someone takes a cell phone. Godzilla is lurking in the lake district, to reach the car, there is a puncture? Call the AA obtain Now they will have to get out of there in 1 hour.

Another example: Call round to see a friend by chance and see the shocked expression on his face as he opened the door - But, but did not give us a call! "Do we really spend so much time locked or lost or just running around in silence?" I mean, I do not remember waking up every day you want for someone to invent portable communication.

Mobile phones are obviously excellent inventions that save lives and increase their social life if you do not spend much time at home anyway. In theory, you can disable them if you want some privacy or to be like the Japanese who have established the only vibrate so as not to offend anyone. Like any technology, if used responsibly there is no problem.

The point is that the way they use mobile phones only makes visible our neurotic tendencies like scratching a pencil over a drawing in wax .. We were always nervous and insecure. Only now have the device to play in public and stroke when nobody is looking.
