How repainted gloss black bookshelf?

I would like to refinish a high gloss black with gold trim shelf. The gold trim, I think that is glued to the top. Does anyone know how to get cut? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how useful it can stain the mahogany and where to buy new cabinet knobs and handles? Thank you very much

First you need to bring down the brightness by either sanding or using deglosser Paseo. Since you want to stain, you will have to sand down to bare wood. Then you can Use a damp towel over the stain and apply until the color saturation you desire. Then you have to be sealed with a yellow non-UVA / UVB protection polyurethane with a couple of layers.
